Friday Bits and Bobs

As you may know, I have finally finished the lightmapper which can now work across all your cores and produce lightmaps nice and fast now.  The latest build handles the static lights which bake into the scene and dynamic ones which you can switch on and off.

I am now starting through the bit lists and getting a new more things ticked off such as grass and foliage issues from store content and a lot of very minor glitches which creates a discord when using the editor.  Once I've gone through these 12 or so double-A tasks, I can move onto the single-A tasks of which they are many but minor.

I am also planning another internal build for the alpha testers this weekend, mainly so they can test the resurrected light mapper as it will need some brutal testing to ensure it's where it needs to be.

Apparently I cannot mention AGK anymore, so that's pretty much the end of my blog for this evening. I will be doing more work later on and then hoping to play a little Far Cry 3, for research purposes you understand :)  Also have a multiplayer test at 4PM which should be a blast!  Until Monday, have a great weekend and for those in the states, enjoy all those Turkey butties!

  1. I'm interested to see how AGK2 is going. As you said, more sales for AGK = more development for FPSCR.

  3. Great to hear you want to help support the team, and thanks for the comps on AGK2, all thanks to Paul really! We've just released a promotion on Bundle Stars to get more traffic through the Steam product, and my newly arranged marketing team will continue to seek great opportunities for the product. For non-AGK fans, rest assured I am working 100% on Reloaded code, but using an occasional blog entry to help push the message to my scatter of readers :)

  4. Well it works, after your blog posts I steam purchased AGK2, now I just need to learn to use it :), not quite as simple as reloaded but I'm sure simple enough once I get time to sit and have a think and a read, any comps or lucky dips coming up to score a possible free version of hands on agk would be great ;P, if not just need to hide some cash from the missus over next few pays :D

  5. Awesome ;) A thousand thanks! There IS a competition I am trying to brew but it's going to take some time to scrape the 'big' prizes together. In the meantime you can buy the EBOOK version of the Hands On AGK BASIC direct from the author for £16 here: http://www.digital-skills.co.uk/ebookmilk.html

  6. Please keep sprinkling AGK tidbits in your blog on occasion! I enjoy the insights into the successful Steam launch (knowing Reloaded is headed there eventually and that AGK profits directly/indirectly contribute to Reloaded development). It's not like you've been endlessly bombarding us with it; you barely ever mentioned AGK until the Steam launch and that is certainly noteworthy IMHO. A single person's opinion among the masses shouldn't affect what you decide to post here! It's your blog after all :)

  7. I say talk about AGK all you want; it's YOUR blog, after all, not to mention your products! LOL, you could always simply change the name of the blog to appease the disgruntled ones! Just an FYI, the turkey was great as usual! Glad to see things coming along on Reloaded, and I promise to take a dip into AGK once the holidays are over. Not only do the expenses of the holidays pile up on me, but the truck insurance and HOA dues also come about this time of year. I may not catch it on sale, but I don't mind. I'm sure it's worth it.

  9. i dont care for AGK at all. and yes that is my opinion - who cares.

i personally have spent probably more money with lee over the years than most people here before you go all "wheres the support" BS.
i am NOT saying that gives me a voice either - i just simply DONT care. i only come here to read about Reloaded and its progress, and instead get bombarded with what feels like advertising!

  10. i aint bothered either way, it is what it is, a game maker of a different type, i skip agk type and read reloaded, no problems. i do have problems with delay after delay after delay after delay after delay after you guessed it delay on the release, from what i believe is definately nowhere near a november release, and i have a wager, it will be near the xmas to new year if not later, but i can be surprised and often i can be wrong and often i can be correct. so this is a bottle of jd bet with myself. if it is not released before dec 3rd i will buy a bottle of jd for myself. if it is released before december 1st i will donate 30 pounds to rspca.( will provide proof) either way adds to the excitement
