Shaders Unified - Phew!

Spent the whole day cleaning up and expanding all the main shaders to reflect the new unified light balanced scene, so that means MEDIUM and HIGHEST, plus PRE-BAKE techniques all use the same lighting calculations and work with the various components like shadows, flash lights, normals, e.t.c.


As you can see, when switching ambience to low and adding a midnight sky, those bump maps really pop when set to highest!  Of course this means one day left to add the multi-level stuff, make and test a solid build ready for the weekend. No pressure.

In multiplayer Ravey news, jet pack and multiple weapons have been added, and the game play is totally awesome.  Picking out shot gun wielding jet packed flying nemesis out the air with a sniper at long range, and watching the ragdoll drop to the floor while the jet pack stays in mid-air was hilarious.  Progress is moving in leaps and bounds here, so keep watching this space and I look forward to revealing more V1.009 news soon!

  2. Hmm, although it may be amusing, I am sure if you were shot while strapped to a jetpack you would still stay attached to it.. I'm pretty sure people don't just hang on for dear life while flying them, they seem fairly dangerous as it is :) Still, I'm sure it is just a wip thing :)
    Looking good though, can't wait for the official release!

  5. Just as long as the ConKit is in V1.009 I'm happy. I've been holding off starting a serious project because, without the ConKit, I would have to scrap the whole thing later and start over. At least with other elements I can at least put in 'place-holders' (such as stock characters until the character builder is released). I understand multiplayer is fun an important but I still think the ConKit should take priority at this stage because it will be an essential tool for many people designing single-player games. Like I said in an earlier post, the multiplayer is a feature whereas the ConKit is a fundamental.

  6. i have to agree with the above, conkit is a must have for 09 i think even if it changes later on down the road to some extent.. with steam release coming soon the members already backing this project should be given time to use and test it for abit so its better for the new pledgers to be.. multiplayer is nice but not essential like the conkit is.

    1. i disagree to some extent, even though i have no use for multi player it is more important than conkit, as i and many others do not need it and the store has many items for use, but it is important but not more than a core feature. it is like character creator it is a side order, both very useful and both have a need, but unlike the fps, graphics, ai and other functions inbuilt which only tgc can alter, conkit can wait. but we all have different wants, my next is water weather and outdoor goodies, and more improtant than conkit is melee. but as i say we all have different priorities
