Surely the UPS is just a whole lot (6-8) of standard wall sockets? The PC lead (the C14 cable) ends in a standard round plug (or whatever the British equivalent is), right? I'm just trying to picture what you're talking about.Clonkexhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01090082045412254311noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-736684970174462098.post-26446693624629053342014-02-19T15:52:21.487-08:002014-02-19T15:52:21.487-08:00C14 cables are the silly little kettle leads you p...C14 cables are the silly little kettle leads you power your PC with. My UPS has nothing but a huge bank of them. Needed to buy converters to turn them into real plugs!Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00942934253243738809noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-736684970174462098.post-63775271004341251872014-02-19T15:49:32.583-08:002014-02-19T15:49:32.583-08:00I forgot to ask - what are C14 cables?I forgot to ask - what are C14 cables?Clonkexhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01090082045412254311noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-736684970174462098.post-16495388650182199872014-02-19T15:48:29.501-08:002014-02-19T15:48:29.501-08:00Indeed, what science man said. If nothing else, the level save format is likely to change and make previous unusable. Really in its current state, this isn't a beta at all. It's alpha material: bugs everywhere, bad performance, heaps of missing or unfinished features. (For those that don't know, because I've seen some people that think otherwise, an alpha version comes BEFORE a beta version - in other words, the beta is closer to the final release than the alpha).

Also the Build Game feature is in as far as I know. BETA5 I think.Clonkexhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01090082045412254311noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-736684970174462098.post-74599980537358061862014-02-19T14:39:33.335-08:002014-02-19T14:39:33.335-08:00That's great news Lee. These are real draw call savers.

Also might be worth taking another look at your deferred rendering prototype. Once we start doing indoor areas there will be many more lights being used and that might help performance once we get to that stage.Nomad Soulhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14981728015213669001noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-736684970174462098.post-10947402909443889692014-02-19T04:32:20.742-08:002014-02-19T04:32:20.742-08:00Excellent, all sounds really good!

That is, the get to the river level should run perfectly (60fps) on mid-range hardware WITHOUT occlusion.Clonkexhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01090082045412254311noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-736684970174462098.post-7236355195914364952014-02-18T20:19:35.207-08:002014-02-18T20:19:35.207-08:00"Between compiles, I also managed to integrat..."Between compiles, I also managed to integrate a new installer script for the beta which means your BIN and DBO files will be removed when you uninstall, temp files removed and your precious levels and contain retained.
