We've done most of the hard work already, it's just those touches that make game play happen.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00942934253243738809noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-736684970174462098.post-47713366495757091312013-01-07T23:30:31.330-08:002013-01-07T23:30:31.330-08:00I'm obsessed with the new rise of RPG FPS game...I'm obsessed with the new rise of RPG FPS games like Fallout and Skyrim. Not entirely for the size of the maps in these games I just love how they play.

A stamina counter would be cool. Even if its not visable. Player runs for a while and then gets tired out a bit. After the player has stopped attempting to run, It restores so he can run again. This is something common now in most FPS games. Have new commands so we can can have items increase stamina or decrease it.
Teabonehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13821836809844664182noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-736684970174462098.post-80489360924735400122013-01-06T19:02:20.873-08:002013-01-06T19:02:20.873-08:00Lee; you should check out FarCry 3 gameplay, while...Lee; you should check out FarCry 3 gameplay, while you're at it.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07807646064196392512noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-736684970174462098.post-77430888412638889362013-01-06T12:04:53.102-08:002013-01-06T12:04:53.102-08:00"Right away I noticed the mouse sensitivity o..."Right away I noticed the mouse sensitivity on this game was set very high compared to the last FPS game controls and right away I was very ineffectual at survival."

Every game I start and has this (what I call an issue) I throw it out. The game is no fun playing as far as I'm concerned. While on the subject of starting a game. If the very first level is so difficult that you can't even get anywhere over a long period of time, IMHO, it is no longer fun. Of course, this has to do with how the developer designs the game. No control over that but mouse sensitivity; yes, there can be some control but I suppose the ability for the developer to choose their own sensitivity would still be good.

As far as shadows, I had personally come to the conclusion that trying to allow for shadows on everything (including dynamic entities) was not so important. It still all boils down to game play. How fun is it to play the game. I don't even think that most gamers even pay attention to the shadows that much unless it adds to the ambience of the game. :)

Because I enjoy RPG -- and I still want to be able to make RPG in first person perspective, story element is somewhat important to me. It seems that most games probably could be considered role playing because the player is in a "role playing" position within the story. I know there has been lots of debates about how much story should one put into a game. Especially a FPS game.

Yes, I agree with the two targets for FPSC-R. Easy to make and edit a game and at the same time the ability to make an awesome game.

I, personally, would still like the ability to go beyond the easy aspect of making the game to possibly make it even more awesome.
Flatlanderhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08239737387241735916noreply@blogger.com
